Blue Best Maintenance Membership Terms
Blue Best, LLC, doing business as Blue Best Plumbing, Heating, Air & Generators
Effective: October 26, 2026
1. What these terms cover
These are the terms of the Blue Best maintenance membership plans: the Safety Plan, the 360 Home Comfort Plan, and the Signature Plan. Your enrollment confirmation shows which plan you chose, the price, the start date, and the home it covers. The benefits of each plan are listed in the plan comparison in our printed brochure. The edition in effect on your enrollment date is the one that applies to you; your enrollment confirmation identifies it, and we will send you a copy on request. If you enrolled before the effective date shown above, the edition in effect on that date applies to you, and our notice of these terms identifies it. These terms, your confirmation, and that brochure together make up your membership agreement. Our website describes the plans for your information; it is not part of your membership agreement, and your use of it is governed by its own terms of use. If the brochure or a web page says one thing and these terms say another, these terms control.
A membership is a maintenance and service plan. It is not insurance and it is not a home warranty. It does not pay for equipment or parts when they fail; the loyalty credits in section 8 are its only contribution toward the cost of equipment, and its labor warranties reach only equipment we installed. What we do promise is set out below: scheduled maintenance, member pricing, priority scheduling, loyalty credits, and, on heating and cooling equipment we installed, a longer labor warranty.
2. Who can join and what the plan covers
Any homeowner in our service area can join, whoever installed the equipment. A membership covers one home at one address: depending on the plan, ordinarily one heating and cooling system and the plumbing equipment your plan names. A furnace is one piece of equipment and an air conditioner is one piece; a system is one of each, and a complete system is both purchased from us and installed at the same time. Each additional piece of heating or cooling equipment is $90 per plan year. The price is the same whether we installed all of that equipment, one piece of it, or none. The labor warranties in section 10 follow the equipment we installed; every other benefit covers the whole home. The plan is for residential property. If you are a landlord, you can enroll a home you rent out; the benefits go to the home, and we will coordinate visits with your tenant.
Blue Best does not warrant another company's work. The warranties in section 10 apply only to heating and cooling equipment Blue Best installed and, on the Signature Plan, to plumbing equipment Blue Best installed. If we did not install your equipment, your membership includes every other benefit, and repairs we perform on that equipment carry our standard labor warranty in section 9.
3. Term, price, and billing
Your membership runs in plan years. A plan year is twelve months from your start date, and each renewal starts a new plan year.
You can pay monthly or once a year. The annual price is twelve monthly payments billed at once; there is no discount or penalty either way. Current prices are on the brochure and at bluebest.com/memberships/. If you prepay a year, the price does not change during that year.
Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically until you cancel. The one exception is the included first year under section 9, which ends unless you enroll. If you pay monthly, we charge the card or account you gave us each month on your billing date, and your membership continues month to month. If you pay annually, we charge the full year at enrollment, and at the end of each plan year your membership renews for another year at the then-current price and we charge the card or account on file. Before each annual renewal we will send you a renewal notice, between 30 and 60 days ahead of the renewal date, showing the renewal date, the total renewal cost, and how to cancel. You can cancel at any time by calling 801-801-BEST (2378) or emailing info@bluebest.com; section 4 explains what happens when you do.
If a payment fails, we will let you know and try again. If the payment is still unpaid 30 days after it was due, your membership lapses at the end of the last paid period.
4. Canceling
You can cancel at any time by calling 801-801-BEST (2378) or emailing info@bluebest.com. We will confirm the cancellation.
Canceling stops future charges and renewals. There is no proration: we do not refund part of a month or part of a year. Your membership runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and we perform the visits remaining in that period unless you tell us not to. One exception, for annual payments only: if you cancel within 30 days of an annual payment, whether at enrollment or at a renewal, and before any visit or other benefit has been used in that year, we refund that payment in full. We do not charge you back for benefits you already received.
We may cancel your membership, by notifying you, for any of these reasons: a payment is 30 days past due; a member is abusive toward our staff; we are repeatedly refused access to the equipment or asked to work in unsafe conditions; or the membership was obtained or used through misrepresentation. In each of these cases your membership ends on the date we state, and prepaid amounts are not refunded.
If we stop serving the area where the home is located, we will tell you, your membership ends on the date we state, and we refund the unused whole months of any prepaid year.
We may stop offering a plan. If we do, we will tell you before your next renewal, your current plan year continues to its end, and section 8 says what happens to your credits.
5. Maintenance visits
What each plan includes, per plan year.
- Two HVAC tune-ups, normally one heating visit in the fall and one cooling visit in the spring. All plans.
- One plumbing inspection, separate from the water-heater flush. All plans.
- One water-heater flush (tank) or descaling (tankless). 360 Home Comfort and Signature.
- A replacement reverse-osmosis filter, if your home has a reverse-osmosis drinking-water system. 360 Home Comfort and Signature.
- One water-softener service and a plumbing fixture inspection. Signature.
What a tune-up is. A tune-up is the inspection, cleaning, testing, and adjustment steps on our current maintenance checklist for your type of equipment. A tune-up is maintenance, not a repair. If the technician finds something that needs repair, you get a written price first and your member discount applies. The repair is a separate charge; your membership does not include it.
What maintenance does. A tune-up lowers the chance of a breakdown; it does not prevent one. A plumbing inspection is a visual check of accessible components and will not find every problem. A failure after a visit is covered only where section 9 or section 10 says so.
Water-heater flush. A flush drains a tank water heater and removes sediment and scale by hand. A flush is maintenance for a tank water heater that has been maintained. Sediment builds up in a tank that has not been flushed regularly, and flushing a tank in that state can clog or break the drain valve, start a leak, or expose a tank that is already failing. At the visit, the technician checks the water heater before flushing it. If the technician finds no sign of regular flushing, heavy sediment, a drain valve that may not close again, visible corrosion or leaking, or another condition that makes flushing likely to damage the unit, we do not flush it. Instead, the technician inspects and tests the water heater, tells you what was found, and gives you a written price for the repair or replacement that would fix it, with your member discount. That visit is the flush benefit for the plan year; a flush we decline for this reason is not refunded, credited, or carried over. If a water heater in this condition is flushed, a leak or a drain valve that will not close afterward comes from the condition of the tank, not from our work, and section 13 applies.
Tankless water heaters. A tankless unit is descaled rather than flushed. We circulate a descaling solution through the unit; the solution is included. Descaling requires a service kit on the unit, meaning the isolation valves and service ports the descaling connects to. We install a service kit on every tankless water heater we install. If your unit has no service kit, we provide and install one at an additional charge, priced in writing with your member discount before the work; the descaling then proceeds and is included. We do not descale a unit that is leaking, is showing an error code, is old enough that descaling is likely to damage it, or is otherwise in a condition where descaling is likely to damage it; the technician tells you what was found and gives you a written price for the fix, and the same no-credit rule applies.
Scheduling. Visits happen during our regular hours. You book each visit; we will contact you when your season's visit comes due, but it is your responsibility to schedule and to give us access to the equipment. Visits do not carry over: a tune-up not used in its plan year is not added to the next year and is not refunded.
Filters and consumables. At each HVAC tune-up we install the standard filter your system takes: a 1-inch filter on every plan, or a 5-inch media filter on 360 Home Comfort and Signature if that is what your system uses. On Signature we also install a new humidifier pad once per plan year, at the heating-season visit. If your system takes a non-standard size or a specialty filter, we install the filter you supply. Filters and pads are provided at scheduled visits only; we do not ship them.
6. Priority scheduling
When you call for service, we schedule your request ahead of non-member requests. Priority scheduling moves you up the list; it is not a promise of a particular arrival time or of same-day service. After-hours service depends on technician availability.
7. Member pricing
Repair and service discount. Members receive 5% (Safety), 10% (360 Home Comfort), or 15% (Signature) off the whole bill, parts and labor, for repairs and service work at the covered home. The discount does not apply to new system installations, to memberships, or to items we sell at cost, and it is not combined with another discount or coupon unless the offer says so.
System evaluations. A system evaluation, also called an assessment or a diagnostic visit and sometimes colloquially a trip fee, is a service call in which a technician diagnoses a heating or cooling problem and gives you a written price for the fix. It carries our standard evaluation fee, the system evaluation price shown on the brochure. 360 Home Comfort members receive two evaluations per plan year with the fee waived, and Signature members four. After those, and on the Safety Plan from the first call, members pay half of the standard fee. When you go ahead with the repair we recommend, the evaluation fee you paid is credited toward it, except on minor repairs and repairs that require a parts run.
After-hours service. Members pay $100 less than our standard after-hours service fee.
Standard rates. Our evaluation fee, after-hours fee, and tune-up price are our standard rates in effect when the service is provided. The brochure shows the rates at the time it was printed.
8. Loyalty credits
Your plan earns loyalty credits in each plan year you have paid in full:
- A repair credit, available 90 days after the plan year starts: $20 on the Safety Plan, $50 on the 360 Home Comfort Plan, $100 on the Signature Plan. Apply it toward any Blue Best repair or service at the covered home during that plan year. It expires at the end of the plan year and does not carry over.
- An equipment credit, added to your account at the end of the plan year: $50 on the 360 Home Comfort Plan, $100 on the Signature Plan. The Safety Plan does not earn an equipment credit. Equipment credits add up from year to year while your membership is active and apply toward new equipment we install at the covered home.
Tell us when you approve the work. A credit has no cash value, is not refunded, and cannot be applied to membership payments. If you cancel, your membership lapses for non-payment, or we end it for one of the reasons listed in section 4, your credits end on the end date. If we stop serving your area, or stop offering your plan and you do not move to another, your repair credit for the current plan year stays usable through the end date and your banked equipment credit stays usable toward new equipment we install for 12 months after it. Credits stay with the home if you transfer the membership under section 11.
9. Our standard warranties
Every piece of heating or cooling equipment we install carries a one-year labor warranty from the installation date under the Blue Best Limited Installation Warranty, which you receive with your installation. Repairs we perform, and plumbing equipment we install, carry a 30-day labor warranty from the repair or installation date. The manufacturer's parts warranty is separate; we register it for you and we will attempt to handle the claim with the manufacturer when a covered part fails. Every labor warranty in these Terms covers our labor to replace a failed part or correct our work; none covers the part itself.
Every complete-system installation also includes the first year of the Safety Plan free. You can upgrade that year to 360 Home Comfort or Signature at any time by paying the difference in price. The included year does not renew on its own: before it ends, we will invite you to continue on a plan, and nothing is charged unless you enroll.
10. How membership extends your labor warranty
This section applies only to heating and cooling equipment Blue Best installed, except the Signature plumbing paragraph, which applies to plumbing equipment Blue Best installed. Repairs on any other equipment carry the standard labor warranty in section 9.
Install labor warranty. Each piece of heating or cooling equipment we installed has its own labor warranty, counted from its own installation date. While your membership is active, that warranty runs through the end of your current plan year. Each plan year you are a member adds a year, counting the first year that came with your installation, up to the cap of the plan you are on when the year is added:
- Up to 5 years on the Safety Plan;
- Up to 10 years on the 360 Home Comfort Plan;
- Up to 10 years on the Signature Plan.
Years count across plans, and the cap of the plan you are on limits what is added, not what was added. If you move from the 360 Home Comfort Plan to the Safety Plan after five years, the Safety Plan adds no more; move back up and the years add again, to ten. No labor warranty under this section runs past ten years from the installation date.
For example: a furnace installed in March 2026 carries labor coverage through March 2027. If you stay on the 360 Home Comfort Plan, coverage runs through March 2028 after the first renewal, March 2029 after the second, and so on, up to March 2036.
When the cap is reached. Once a piece of equipment has reached its cap, further plan years do not extend its warranty. Your membership continues on the same plan, at the same price, with every other benefit.
If your membership lapses. The extended coverage lasts only while your membership is active. If you cancel, or your membership lapses for non-payment, the extension ends when the period you have paid for ends, and your installation keeps only the standard one-year labor warranty from the installation date. If you rejoin, the years add again from the plan year you rejoin; the years in between are not restored, and the ten-year limit from the installation date still applies.
What the install labor warranty covers. During the warranty period, if a part of the equipment fails, or our installation work fails because of a defect in our workmanship, we return, diagnose the problem, and replace the part or correct the work at no charge for labor, trip, or diagnosis. The warranty covers our labor only. It does not cover the part itself: while the manufacturer's parts warranty covers the part, we will attempt to obtain it under that warranty; when the manufacturer does not cover it, you pay for the part, with your member discount, and the labor stays free. It does not cover equipment we did not install. It also does not cover:
- failures or damage from outside causes, such as power surges, lightning, fire, flood, water or freeze damage, pests, or acts of nature;
- failures caused by work on the equipment by anyone other than Blue Best after our installation or repair, whether another contractor or you, other than routine upkeep such as changing a filter or keeping the outdoor unit clear;
- failures caused by lack of maintenance, misuse, or operating the equipment outside the manufacturer's instructions;
- consumables such as filters, pads, batteries, and refrigerant, including refrigerant lost through a part failure the manufacturer covers;
- cosmetic damage, and damage to ductwork, wiring, plumbing, or structures we did not install or modify;
- failures from conditions in the home that pre-date our work, such as undersized electrical service, poor drainage, or inadequate ductwork, unless our installation was meant to correct them.
Having someone else service or repair the equipment does not by itself end this warranty; what it does not cover is a failure their work caused. If the equipment has been worked on by someone else since our installation or repair, we diagnose the failure first. If it is covered, the visit is free; if it is not, the visit is a system evaluation under section 7.
Repair labor warranty. A repair we perform while you are a member, on heating or cooling equipment we installed, carries a labor warranty of up to 1 year on the Safety Plan, up to 3 years on the 360 Home Comfort Plan, or up to 5 years on the Signature Plan, from the repair date, for as long as your membership stays active. If the repair fails within that period, or a part we installed in the repair fails, we redo the labor at no charge. The exclusions listed above for the install labor warranty apply to this warranty as well. This warranty covers labor only; it does not cover the part, which carries its own warranty and, outside it, is charged to you with your member discount. If your membership ends before the period runs out, the repair's labor warranty ends with it, but not before the standard 30-day warranty in section 9 has run from the repair date.
Declined recommendations. If our technician recommends a repair or replacement at a visit and you decline it, the repair labor warranty does not apply to related work we perform at that visit, meaning work whose result depends on the repair you declined.
Plumbing installations on the Signature Plan. While you are a Signature member, the labor warranty on plumbing equipment we installed, such as a water heater or a water softener, runs for the same period as the manufacturer's parts warranty on that equipment, up to 20 years from the installation date. If the parts warranty is five years, the labor warranty is five years; if it is twenty, twenty. The same lapse rule applies: if your membership ends, or moves to a plan other than Signature, this extended labor warranty on that equipment ends when the period you have paid for ends, and the installation keeps the standard 30-day labor warranty from its installation date under section 9, which will already have run unless the installation is less than 30 days old.
Manufacturer warranties. Manufacturer parts warranties have their own terms, including registration and transfer rules set by the manufacturer. We register your equipment with the manufacturer for you. A membership does not change the manufacturer's terms.
11. Selling your home
Your membership stays with the home. If you sell, the new owner can keep the remaining plan year and the extended labor coverage earned to date by calling us within 30 days of closing and accepting these terms. Unused loyalty credit transfers with it. A membership cannot be moved to a different address.
12. Changes to the plans and these terms
We may change plan benefits, prices, or these terms for future plan years. We will tell you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and not during a year you have prepaid. If you do not want the new terms, cancel before they take effect and section 4 applies. Continuing your membership after the effective date means you accept the change.
13. Limits
Our responsibility under a membership is to provide the services and warranties stated here. If a visit or other service under your membership was not performed properly, tell us and we will redo it; that is our responsibility for the visit. Except for the labor warranties in sections 9 and 10 and the Blue Best Limited Installation Warranty, our total responsibility for any claim arising from a membership is limited to the membership fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. To the extent Utah law permits, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as spoiled food, lost time, or lodging. These limits do not apply to injury or property damage caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits a warranty we gave you in writing on your installation or repair, and nothing takes away rights Utah law gives you that cannot be waived.
14. General terms
Assignment. We may assign these terms and your membership to a successor to our business, and your membership continues on the same terms. You may transfer your membership only as section 11 provides.
Notices. We may send you notices under these terms, including renewal notices and notices of changes, by email or text message to the contact information on file, or by mail. Keep your contact information current with us.
Severability and waiver. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term on one occasion, we may still enforce it later.
15. Governing law
Utah law governs these terms. If something goes wrong, call us first; most problems are fixed with one conversation. Any court case must be brought in the state courts sitting in Davis County, Utah, or in the United States District Court for the District of Utah.
